WireGuard G50

Ideal to coat weld mesh fence panels

We tested the product ourselves at the Durban harbour. Our 7612 Vista-Mesh fence was installed at the Port in Durban, on the waters edge.

The area is exposed to extremely harsh conditions including constant salt spray and industrial air pollutants from the daily shipping traffic.

While we were in the area, we inspected local fences installed nearby from a variety of other manufacturers and found them all to be either cracked, peeling or in advanced stages of white rust deterioration.

After 12 months in this climate, our product showed no signs of damage, colour fading, cracks or peeling and was simply wiped clean. The fence looks like it was installed yesterday!

Our Plascoat plant runs batches of products in three colour options, and can also be pre-galvanized before being plastic coated with the Plascoat PPA 571 product, for extra protection.

Hot Dip Galvanizing

The hot dip galvanizing process entails a series of cleansing and pre-treatment techniques prior to coating steel with a thin zinc layer by passing the metal through a molten bath of high-temperature (450 °C) zinc.

Hot dip galvanizing provides ideal corrosion protection for steel – no other protective coating matches the unique protection gained by using this process. High adhesion, hard inner layers and a ductile surface layer are among the unique physical properties resulting from this process.

If there are suitable venting conditions, both internal and external protection on hollow structures can be achieved.

SMP has a long standing relationship with Durban Galvanizing who are trusted by steel fabrication industry leaders due to their continued quest for galvanizing excellence.

All Hot Dip Galvanized products supplied by SMP are dipped by Durban Galvanizing to the highest SABS-approved standards and certificates are available.
